 Abdomen light to dark chocolate brown; thorax medium olive brown; 1st gills extend forward under the thorax, but don't curve inward and overlap; blunt femoral flange; 2 tails. Body gray or pale cream/olive; wings medium gray; length 9-11 mm.; 2 tails; emerges Jul - early Oct.

 Body dark brown, gills w/purplish hue; dense row of dorsal hairs down the middle of abdomen; first/last pairs of gills extend under thorax and abdomen respectively and overlap to form a suction disk; 2 tails. .

 Body brown w/darker markings; femora w/dark markings and blunt flange; extended 1st and last gills meet under body to form suction disks; 2 tails. Body pale gray w/darker tegites; wings gray to dark slate; length 10-14 mm.; 2 tails: emerges mid-late Jul.
